I probably should have made this list a while back, but time goes by so fast and when you are already sitting behind a computer most of your week it just seems like I should be spending more time trying to do these things than spending time writing them down :) I changed it to 25 by 35 mainly because sometimes I lack imagination so coming up with 25 ideas was easier, also I changed it to 35 since they both end in a 5 and it's my list so I'll do what I want. FYI, they are in no particular order but a good hand full are more centered around living in California.
1) Climb Mt. Whitney - Tallest peak in the continental US and located not too far from my current home.
2) Try surfing - Must be able to stand up and ride a wave multiple times. Josh has surf boards so that won't be a problem, but the general temperature of the pacific ocean near our home maybe.
3) Go Sky Diving - This is actually planned for later this year for a joint Birthday Present for Josh and myself.
4) Defend my Master's thesis - I tend to put things off, I honestly have a huge problem with that. This should be done by September at the latest.
-DONE! I am officially a Master of Geology with an emphasis in paleolimnology.
5) Get scuba certified - Could have done this in Miami where the water was actually warm.
6) Run a marathon - Done plenty of other races, just not the big one.
7) Purchase a house - Josh and I really want our dog Kiska to have her own yard.
8) Learn how to take truely good photos.
9) Go explore LA - Living in O.C. I honestly kind of look down on the place, but I'm sure it holds a bunch of undiscovered awesomeness
10) Become a yoga teacher - I really really love yoga and I would like to take my practice to the next level!
11) Get out of the US on a trip every year - I'm counting from birthday to birthday, not calendar year.
-2011's trip was to Vomo Island in Fiji
-2013's trip was to Whistler British Columbia in Canada
12) Hike the Grand Canyon - Gone hiking there before, but never had time to get all the way to the bottom.
13) Camp out in Death Valley during a meteor shower.
14) Try to look at everything with a better manor - I tend to be over critical.
15) Become a regular volunteer at an animal rescue or nursing home.
16) Learn to play the cello well - I already know how to read music (having played the flute since 4th grade) so at least that part is taken care of :)
17) Speak russian, portigues and german fulently - I took 5 years of german between highschool and college, but I haven't exactly practiced it every day
18) Donate my hair - I've had enough hair to do this for many years, but they don't take hair with highlights
19) Go swimming with a whale shark in the wild - most likely down in Mexico
20) See a spirit bear in the wild - they live on islands off the Northern coast of BC and are all white but are not polar bears
21) Get back in touch with some old friends that I miss
22) Start taking Krav Maga
23) Finish paying off my undergrad loans - My undergrad experience was awesome, my school is one of the best in the country and my degree has ski high limitations so I'm fine with the fact that I had to do a bit of financing
24) Take a girls weekend every year - it maybe with my friends or my sister and mom, whoever so long as it's a little getaway
25) Develop a professional wardrobe
For Brittany year 27 I should be able to check off 3 things and start working on 3 things since many of my goals seem to be more long term...
